Understanding the Difference Between '-λ°' and '-λ' in Korean
Korean sentence endings can significantly change the meaning and nuance of a sentence. Two such endings, '-λ°' and '-λ', are often confused due to their similar pronunciation but have distinct uses. Here's a detailed look at how to use each of them correctly.
'-λ°'
The ending '-λ°' is used when the speaker is conveying information based on their own direct experience or observation. It is similar to the expression '~λλΌ', which also shares this sense of firsthand experience.
Usage:
To describe something the speaker has directly experienced or observed.
Often used to share personal experiences or surprising facts that the speaker encountered.
Examples:

Equivalent: 'λ΄κ° λ΄€λλ° μ λΆκ° μ§μ§ μμλλΌ.'

'-λ'
The ending '-λ' is a contraction of '-λ€κ³ ν΄', used when relaying information that was heard from someone else. It indicates that the speaker is quoting or reporting someone else's words rather than sharing personal experience.

Usage:
To report what someone else has said.
To quote information or statements heard from others.
Examples:
κ²°νΌμμ₯ μ λΆκ° μ§μ§ μμλ.
(I heard from someone who attended the wedding that the bride was really beautiful.)
Equivalent: '(λ΄κ° μ§μ λ³Έ μ μ μμ§λ§) μ λΆκ° μ§μ§ μμλ€κ³ νλλΌ.'
μ¬λ¦μ΄ μ§λ μ§ μΈμ λ° μμ§λ μ΄λ κ² λ₯λ?
